RECENTLY LAUNCHED FOLLOWING SUCCESSFUL KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN! Desktop Injection Moulding Machine by Pancake Machine Ltd.

Easy-to-use Desktop Injection Moulding machine which attaches to a standard bench drill (not supplied). Great for enthusiastic makers and for eduction in the principles of injection moulding!

I've never done injection moulding before, so this I think is a great way to get started.. It's a great product! Great service and a wonderful product, the parts are all nicely machined and fit. Sample plastic - TPE moulding temperature ca. UK mains to IEC lead. Not included in the package. The drill press and mould. Are included in the photos in order to provide a clear demonstration of the machine in use and the sorts of objects you can create.

Temperature range = 0 - 270C. Shot size = 0 - 1.1 cubic inches ca.

Barrel internal diameter = 24mm internal, 35mm external. Barrel hole diameter at base = 5.2mm internal, 7.2mm external. Piston diameter to fit drill = 13mm. Drill shaft diameter range = 30 - 60mm. Maximum horizontal extension from shaft = 250mm. UK Mains to IEC plug. THIS ITEM IS NOT A TOY, AND BECOMES DANGEROUS IF NOT USED PROPERLY. USE OF THIS MACHINE SHOULD BE CONDUCTED AND/OR SUPERVISED BY COMPETENT INDIVIDUALS AND PROFESSIONALS, ALWAYS FOLLOWING THE SAFETY GUIDANCE AND INSTRUCTIONS SET OUT BELOW. FUMES PRODUCED DURING USE CAN BE HARMFUL TO HEALTH: ONLY USE THE MACHINE IN AN AREA WITH PROPER EXTRACTION AND VENTILATION, WEAR SUITABLE RESPIRATOR MASKS, AND FOLLOW ANY ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED WITH YOUR MOULDING MATERIAL. DO NOT USE THE MACHINE ON OR NEAR FLAMMABLE MATERIAL. DO NOT EXPOSE THE MACHINE TO WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS. DO NOT USE THE MACHINE ABOVE THE STATED TEMPERATURE RANGE. DO NOT ADJUST THE FACTORY SETTINGS OF THE TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER. ONLY USE THE MACHINE AS INTENDED. Insert the piston into the drill chuck, and attach the bracket to the drill shaft. Adjust the bracket at the drill shaft horizontally to align the piston and barrel (the bracket at the barrel should not need to be adjusted). Adjust the height of the bracket along the drill shaft until the piston sits just below the top of the barrel. This is in order that the piston and barrel stay in alignment during use. Attach the lead to the temperature controller at the back, and turn the machine switch on. The switch will illuminate red. After a couple of seconds you will see two numbers, corresponding to the temperature values in degrees C. The top number is the actual temperature, and the bottom number the target temperature, which is originally set to 0. Set your target temperature by pressing Set then using the arrows to select the temperature. Press Set again to set the temperature. Note that if you press and hold Set, you can access the factory settings. DO NOT ADJUST THESE SETTINGS unless you possess requisite knowledge and experience in setting temperature controllers. Prior to, or during heating, fill the barrel with your moulding material using the dispenser provided. Allow the machine to heat to the target temperature. Fit your mould under the barrel, ensuring it sits snug to the base of the barrel. Some moulding materials will work best with a slightly pre-heated mould, in which case you may wish to position the mould before or during the heating process. In a firm, swift movement, lower the piston into the barrel using the levers on your drill, forcing the melted moulding material into the mould, until the piston cannot be depressed further. Release the drill press lever. The piston should return to its original position.
Extract the mould from below the barrel and cool the mould as required before extracting your moulded object. Return the target temperature to 0 when finished and always turn the machine off at the switch. Any questions please get in touch!
